Get A Life … with friends like this

A friend once told me to “get a life” ….. this was after I told her that I enjoyed knitting and crocheting …maybe she wasn’t much of a friend after all 😦

As you can imagine this drove me underground too ashamed to admit to anyone again that I partook in this most boring of activities, in case I would be publicly humiliated once again.

So I thought what can I do? How can I talk about this dreadful thing without people knowing it is me…… so here I am …. the anonymity of the World Wide Web….. and no one need ever know its me.

What I will share with you is that I am from the North Irish Coast (very beautiful) I have a husband, who arrives home from work on a regular basis to no dinner on the table, house a mess and me in the middle of it with a crochet hook or knitting needles in my sweaty paw. I’m sure he isn’t alone 😉 I do have a proper job but that is too boring to mention!! Oh yes, I have 2 children boy 21 and girl 18, 2 cairn terriers and a ginger cat, I am a mere 48!!!

  1. You can tell anyone and everyone online and offline because crafting, especially knitting and crochet are COOL again. 😀
I also have friends who roll their eyes about it too, I don’t get new friends, I just think they are more to be pitied than scorned….because they’re missing out on lovely hobbies, events and opportunities. 🙂

  2. HI, Sue! Thanks for following me. I am enjoying my visit to your blog, too. I think your crocheting in cool. It occupies your fingers and your mind. I read some place years ago, “Any work done by a thinking mind is creative work.” Having seen some of your cute creations elsewhere in the blog, I have to vote that you have a creative mind. Treasure it. You don’t have to apologize to anyone. If negative comments bother you, don’t mention it. But, I would rather be proud of what you do and pity the poor fools who don’t get it. Think of all the other stuff they don’t get, too. Cheers!

  3. Hi Sue what a lovely blog you have with great needlework of all kind and whimsical creatures! So get out of that closet, be proud of your artful creativeness and I Look forward to follow you. Thanks for stopping by, warm greetings Johanna.
